Having your own blog simply isn’t enough nowadays.  Alot of entrepreneurs and businesses struggle to find their happy place on the web with their blog.  Optimizing your blog can be a difficult process especially if you’re new to blogging or even so a first-time user of such application.  Generating revenue from your blog can occur in various ways.  One of them that most use nowadays is in the form of content marketing or banner advertising just to mention a couple.  Feel free to contact my friend Russ Henneberry for more information on content marketing if that’s an option that you’re familiar with.  Banner advertising on your blog can be implemented and configured on your own blog in a few short steps which I’m going to show you how to accomplish in this post.

Barb Matteri, helping women over 50 know that they are powerhouses.My friend and colleague, Barbara Matteri, approached me a while ago, very excited. “I have a blog now. You should read it.” “Great,” I said, “What are you wanting to accomplish with it?” She didn’t have a clear answer to that question, but promised to think about it. My next questions were: “Where are you promoting it? Have you connected it to your facebook account, and how about in LinkedIn? Do you have a website that can act as a hub for your goals?” “Oh, I haven’t done any of those things,” she replied. Sigh. Since my focus for people using Social Media is on those over 50, I decided right there and then that she would be my case study. I suggested that, and she enthusiastically agreed. Automated Backups of Your WordPress Blog

Even though I’m a hardcore Joomla fan and yet to be disappointed by this content management system I have to admit that WordPress rules all other blogging platforms. Ok, that’s off my chest now! One of the things that you should be concerned about when serious about blogging is creating ongoing backups of your WordPress installation. In particular if you’re using WordPress for business then this should be a requirement. There are several plugins out there for WordPress that will let you create backups although there’s one in particular that every WordPress blogger should have.

In this day and age it seems that a new blogs go up on daily basis. The demand for information from consumers has evolved drastically which has caused  everyone to establish themselves as an expert.  Well, I’m not going to quite argue that here but what I do want to share with you is how you can measure your own effectiveness by grading your own blog. Having a WordPress blog or “a” blog in general requires lots of maintenance and upkeep.  The continued contribution of content alone on regular basis needs dedication, time, and effort.  More content to you blog shows active status but can also gather the spam bots or spammers in general real quick.  Battling spam on your blog can be frustrating and cause alot of headache or unwanted content to show up on your blog.  Recently I had the opportunity to help a company out by showing them how to eliminate spam on their blog.

WordPress & Your iPhone

If you are one of the many iPhone owners such as myself then I’m sure that you are in full exploration mode for applications. I don’t blame you. The iPhone offers everything you need in a phone both for recreational and business use. As a constant commitment to my blog I have searched of ways to continue being active as much as possible. Moving Your WordPress Blog

Recently I was faced with a challenge involving the relocation of a WordPress blog. The task at hand involved the moving of a WordPress blog from one folder location to another in t atthe same web server. Given that I’ve used WordPress for a few years now and kindly consider myself an expert in the area I eagerly jumped into this with both feet in. Wrong! It did take me a bit to do some research and analysis to find out the best approach to this. I’m glad that I took the time to do this otherwise it may have taken alot longer to complete.
