In 2013 Ivan became one of the first board members of UMSL Digital Media Marketing Program. A continued education program that took formation at University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL). From 2013-2016 he forged and evolved a curriculum for the Search Engine Marketing course. A one of a kind course in the entire Midwest that focuses on providing education around Search Marketing & Advertising practices.
Since an early age Ivan has displayed true signs of business curiosity, innovation, forward thinking, and technical agility. He has worked with many small to medium size companies and boutique agencies in leading the development of digital media marketing service offerings.
Ivan Temelkov (Ivaylo) was born in Bulgaria. In 1990 his father took upon a giant gamble of exploring greener pastures into the Free World. After an airplane ticket expense he was left with $400 in his pocket and the will to pursue a brighter future ahead. After an arrival in NYC he made a random decision of selecting St. Louis, MO as a final destination. The next 3-4 years were full of grinding and hustling in the pursuit of bringing his family closer to him.
Since the age of 14, Ivan Temelkov has been curious and passionate about technology and all things pertaining to the internet. You know, the days of AOL, MySpace, dial-up internet, Windows ’95, and more. He always knew that technology, digital world, and will to help people was his calling.
As an Eastern Europe and a cultural misfit, Ivan Temelkov struggled with bullying from the age of 14-18. Technology and the digital world were in a way an escape from reality. He used to spend many late nights on the computer at his father’s pizza joint after school and during weekends.
Ivan Temelkov’s agency life did not begin until around 2006. After spending 8 years full of self-education and lots of trial and error, it was time to venture out and apply those skills in the real world.
In 2006, Ivan Temelkov entered the marketing world professionally. As they say, the rest was really history.
Over the next 10+ years, he focused on working with agencies in helping them provide and/or develop service offerings around the following areas:
