Bing’s “Mobilegeddon” Announced Following Google’s Mobile-Friendly Rollout

Bing announced on its blog that they will too be putting forth a focus on mobile SEO. Expect a Bing “Mobilegeddon” in the near future. Not that this was a surprise to any of us as it seems that Microsoft tends to replicate what Google does in most cases. Judging by the looks of things, the Bing mobilegeddon had been in planning since around November 2014 though. Ironic? Google’s mobile-friendly algorithm was in development during the same time as well. Now there is two search engines to worry about in terms of mobile search compliance. (more…)

Facebook’s New In-App Search Engine May Change the Face of Search

According to a TechCrunch report, Facebook seems to be testing a new in-app search engine with a select group of test users. The purpose behind the new Facebook search engine is to allow for new content discovery in conjunction with status updates. Something that Google should be on the lookout for in this Facebook endeavor is the fact that this new in-app search engine does not require access to Google’s index. That’s right! Facebook’s new in-app search engine operates on the capability of crawling the web without the need of accessing Google’s data. A recent interaction with a client on SEO ended up refreshing my memory on link building especially considering their strong level of interest in such initiative.
