If there’s one thing that I’m thankful for thus far in 2012 it’s that 2011 is far behind.  There’s so much that has happened in the last 12 months that quite frankly I’m having trouble just making sense out of it all.  In all the entire year was one giant roller coaster…literally.  Now there’s a lot of folks out there that will try to make-up a story for you so you can show some sympathy.  That’s not me though so here’s my story and the goals I’ve decided to set for myself to improve upon during this upcoming year.

Last year was quite the ride and one that I’m not sure I’d want to relive.  Everything is an experience therefore I’ve tried to accept all consequences in such fashion and look only towards the future.  My career really took an awkward turn and for a while it made me quite discouraged about the future.  On top of everything I was dealing with a divorce that was emotionally draining and took every ounce of my energy to maintain some sort of sanity.  Believe me when I say this that never in this lifetime a divorce would have crossed my path.  Well, there’s a first time for everything and this was definitely it.  It’s quite difficult to comprehend such experience.

Now that we’re into a new year it’s time for new beginnings and exploring of opportunities.  Here’s a few areas of improvement that I’d like to focus on particularly.

  1. Career – The economy continues to move at an inconsistent beat.  Similar to the housing industry quite frankly.  Although my top priority in 2012 consist of a strong focus on paving a successful, profitable and most of all enjoyable career path.  One that I’ll have the motivation to wake up for each morning.  Gladly at the end of 2011 and unsurpassed offer came my way that simply couldn’t be resisted.  Perhaps accepting a Director Of Digital Marketing position at a top marketing agency in St. Louis was something worth waiting for.  While this opportunity remains rather fresh my goal will consist of a 200% effort in ensuring longevity.
  2. Personal Life – You know, I’ve heard of friends and acquaintances that have gone thru a divorce.  Never in a million years  would have thought it’s something that could happen to me as well.  Yeah, well it can happen to just about anyone.  Even though they say “Opposites attract” that’s not always true.  Long story short after an 8 year long relationship of which 4 of it were spent married all came to an end in May 2011…just like that.  Luckily for me a few months later I met someone who I’ve been seeing for some time now.  Perhaps the man upstairs still likes me and has a new plan for me. In 2012 I’d like to focus on getting my personal Life together.
  3. Health & Fitness – Good health simply doesn’t last for an eternity.  We all age and our days are numbered.  It’s inevitable since the day we were all born.  I know, that’s quite sad and disappointing but as human being we all do our best to maintain a balance lifestyle.  Sometimes that’s easier said than done though (guilty as charged).  A personal goal of mine this year is to get back into the gym and fall into rotation of a balanced diet.  That’s right!  Full of fresh vegetables and fruits that good for you.  I’m sure there’s one too many burgers and pizzas that were eaten last year alone.  Plus that recurring membership fee from Club Fitness on my bank statement needs to be put to good use.

In all these are really the top 3 things that I’d like to focus on this year.  If I’m capable of improving on all it would be spectacular.  What are your New Year’s resolutions?
