As an entrepreneur, you need to know about pain tolerance. It is such a crucial component that determines your level of resilience from someone else.
Checkout the latest episode of my podcast The RAS Project with Chris ‘Kubby’ Kubbernus where we highlighted the importance of pain tolerance.
One of the biggest misconceptions especially with new entrepreneurs is the fact that they think winning is instant in business. Wrong. Mastering pain tolerance is the one thing you need to win at first before every making it in business. Listen on more thoughts from my friend Chris on the subject.
Pain tolerance in essence attributes to your ability to sustain in business over a long period of time. That is exactly what it takes to make it as a modern entrepreneur and business owner.
Over the last 3 1/2 years alone, there has been a shit ton of havoc that I had to deal with. A vast majority of the pain endured was financial related.
Clients wouldn’t pay on time.
Clients wouldn’t pay at all.
Prospective clients yanking my chain to the point that they’ll never engage.
Prospective clients who were afraid to pull the trigger too soon.
In all honesty, there have been all sorts of difference scenarios where I haven’t gotten paid for the services offered.
It is extremely hard to be in the service-based industry. Especially as a digital marketer in a sea of digital marketers who claim to be experts in the very same things that I offer.
Competitive industries are indeed a problem on their own. It makes it extremely difficult and very time consuming to separate yourself from the rest of the herd.
Why does pain tolerance matter?
A vast majority of modern entrepreneurs simply do not get it.
Imagine this for a minute.
What does a resilient warrior win in a battle? He wins because he doesn’t stop. At anything. No matter what the circumstances.
In entrepreneurship, it’s the same fucking thing. Except in modern times. Yet so many people do not comprehend the traditional principles that still apply in entrepreneurship and business.
Oh, yeah! Pain tolerance.
The more you can withstand, the tougher you are. That is the moral of the story here. ICYMI!
How do you develop strong pain tolerance?
How much shit are you willing to take? How long are you willing to deal with it?
The ability to be patient and tolerant takes a lot of practice. I’m telling you because my current pain tolerance was definitely not on the level that it was about 10 years ago. I had to grow a thicker skin. No matter what happened, I maintained an eye on the prize.
That’s just it though.
You will get knocked down.
You might become broke.
You might never even get to where you want to be.
Here’s the thing though.
Having unconditional commitment, focus, resilience, and working your ass off will give you a chance to accomplish the things you’re after. No amount of pain will stop you from being pursuant of the things that matter most to you.
